Agus Sudjianto has built a distinguished career at the intersection of engineering, banking, and artificial intelligence. He is widely recognized for his pioneering work in machine learning, model risk management, and explainable AI. Following his retirement as Executive Vice President and Head of Model Risk Management at Wells Fargo, he now serves as Senior Vice President of Risk and Technology at H2O.ai | Convergence of the World’s Best Predictive and Generative AI for Private, Protected Data , Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company and Founder of MoDeVa — a platform dedicated to the development of inherently interpretable machine learning and rigorous model validation.

Throughout his career, Agus has combined deep technical expertise with a practical mindset to drive innovation in automated model validation, trustworthy AI and risk management. He co-created PiML (Python Interpretable Machine Learning), a widely adopted framework for developing interpretable models and robust testing methodologies, which evolved into MoDeVa. He is also the co-author of a foundational book on computer experiments and has published extensively in applied machine learning, statistics, and AI for finance and engineering. His work has resulted in numerous patents across these domains.

As an advisor, speaker, and thought leader, Agus brings a principled and forward-thinking perspective to the challenges of trustworthy AI, model governance and automated testing and validation. He holds an MS and PhD in Engineering from Wayne State University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
